Introduction to Microsoft Excel 1 and 2

Course Outline               

This workshop introduces the student to Microsoft Excel 2007 software orientation. During this workshop, the student will learn to work with an existing workbook, creating and editing workbook, formatting cells and ranges, worksheet formatting, managing worksheets, working with data, working with formulas and functions, creating charts from your data, adding pictures and shapes to your worksheet and securing and sharing documents.  In this course, the student will move from a beginner to an intermediate level of Excel understanding.

  • 20 hours (4 classes, each 5 hours)
  • 4 consecutive Saturdays

  • Populating worksheet with data
  • Formatting cells with styles
  • Applying conditional formatting to cells and using themes  
  • Modifying a worksheets on screen and printed appearance
  • Preparing a document for printing
  • Working with multiple worksheets and using cell references in formula
  • Controlling the appearance of the formula
  • Formatting a chart with a quick style
  • Adding comments to a worksheet and securing your workbook before sharing it
